Your Tasks

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for setting plastic injection molds
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots molding machines   
  • Troubleshoot auxiliary equipment related to the molding process   
  • Maintain automation equipment and integrate them into the molding process   
  • Responsible for mold machine maintenance and the documentation associate with the maintenance 
  • Inspects, measures, and tests in-process and final product per the established product control plan with precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and optical comparators
  • Operates, monitors, and adjusts controls to eliminate defects
  • Reviews procedures and work instructions and makes recommendations
  • Operates and controls equipment through continuous monitoring   
  • Serves on company problem-solving teams to continuously improve manufacturing operations   
  • Meets established production and delivery targets   
  • Performs communication at time of shift change   
  • Performs emergency shutdown procedures  
  • Works safely to prevent on-the-job-injuries by using personal protective equipment, by paying attention while working, keeping work area clean and organized, and using proper lifting techniques, exercising good judgment and using all necessary tool guards  

Additional Duties:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings or product specifications and customer-provided specifications to determine customer requirements 
  • Works in a team environment to complete work   
  • Handles and prepares product for shipping  
  • Assists in customer and ISO audits 
  • Performs on the job training and certification of new employees  
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor

Your Profile

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Vocational Training or secondary education preferred with an emphasizing on molding and plastic processing
  • Proven understanding of plastics processing and history of successful mold set and job start-up skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-pace organization handling multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Experience working with Engel, Arburg and Krauss Maffei molding machines
  • 3-5 years of experience of mold setting experience
